Mission
St. James’ aims to be a mission-driven and a mission-centred church which looks to make Jesus known not only locally, but also nationally and internationally. The church seeks to reach out to those in physical, spiritual and emotional need and to share the love of Jesus with them in fulfilment of Jesus’ great commission to bring the Gospel to all though teaching, caring and sharing God’s word.
St. James’ supports numerous Christian charities though prayer, financial giving and awareness-raising activities. Every year the church tithes 10% of its income which it donates to projects to support:
-
The persecuted church
-
The distribution of the word
-
Poverty projects
-
The emerging church in the UK
St. James’ understands the importance of informing and engaging all the congregation in mission activities and seeks to donate its tithe to projects where feedback can be gained and a focus can be given. In recent years agencies which the Church has supported has included Sparrow Ministries, Tearfund, Open Doors, The Oakes and the Bible Society.
