Staff, Leadership and Teaching Teams
Revd Mark Pickett
"Born on the South Coast, Youth work in the Midlands, Ordination training in the West and vicar’s jobs in the East, I find myself now in the North and I have got the best job in the world, leading this great bunch of people. I have five children and four grandchildren, and every Thursday you will find me on a course - a golf one that is - as I try to improve my handicap."

"I have worked as a youth worker in Clitheroe since 2000. I am married to Olie and have three children who bring me joy, laughter and grey hairs! I support Leeds Rhinos rugby league team, love fizzy laces and giraffes, but don’t like cotton wool or mayonnaise. My favourite Psalm is 139 and a favourite quote I’ve grown up with is ‘Be the change you want to see’."
Children and Families Worker
"I used to love being a teacher, but now I love the privilege of being the church children’s worker. I love being loved by God and helping children to know a Heavenly Father who loves them immeasurably. I love being married to my best friend Keith and sharing time with our two married children. I love walking (especially if there is a cup of tea and a piece of cake at the end of it!), being by the sea and climbing mountains. And I support Liverpool!"
"I was brought up in Somerset, but have spent most of my adult years up North - first in Manchester, then moving to Clitheroe in 2014. I'm married to Tim, and we have two young sons. They keep us busy, but I can usually find time for a cup of tea and a good book. After 14 years as a teacher, I started working for St James in 2018. I am passionate about discipleship, the Bible and serving the community of St James."
CAP Centre Manager
Graham is married to Ruth, and is our CAP Centre manager. Ruth and Graham have three sons and two grandchildren, and are also befrienders for Care for the Family. Graham has previously worked as an NHS Librarian. He is also on the Leadership Team.
"My journey with St James' Church began in 1949, when I attended our primary school, aged five, which had a big impact on my life through teaching of the Bible, Sunday School and eventually church. Confirmed and also married at St James, I later became a Churchwarden in 1990. My passion is to serve the Lord through involvement with our Pastoral Care and Prayer ministries and since the beginning of 2015 it is my privilege to head up a team for our senior generation for the purpose of sharing fellowship and community outreach, which I thoroughly enjoy."
"Accrington born and bred. Married to the wonderful Helen, blessed with two amazing children Joshua & Charlotte. I work as the Estimating Manager for a building contractor. I enjoy walking in the Lake District and the coastal paths of Cornwall. I am fanatical about many sports, watching and occasionally playing and I support the mighty Liverpool FC. Constantly overwhelmed by God's extravagant grace, so thankful for His faithfulness and the gospel of Jesus. It is a privilege to worship, praise and pray with the people of St James'."
