Prayer Stations

The Weight of Leadership

  • Esther had to learn to recognise the responsibility and privilege of her position.

  • Pick up something that feels heavy, like a hand weight. Hold it in your hand and focus on the weight of responsibility for our leaders.

  • Pray for our political leaders, for them to have both courage and integrity in fighting injustice.

Lectio Divinia

  • Read the passage through slowly. Then read it again. You may wish to close your eyes and continue to think about the words. What are they saying to you? What might the people who first heard this passage have thought?

  • Read the passage once more. What is the passage saying to the world today? Pray about whatever comes to you from the passage. There is also space in your journal to write about your reflections.

He has shown you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8

Praying for the Climate Emergency

The climate emergency can feel like an impossible challenge.

Hold a globe carefully in your hand. Pray that leaders, businesses and the powers that shape our world will value our planet and curb the use of fossil fuels to stop global warming.

Pray for the voices of activists like Greta Thunberg, Vanessa Nkate and Ryan Bestre, that they will have courage and authority.
