Struggling with debt or anything connected with debt or getting a budget to balance? Christians Against Poverty is an award-winning charity which supports people out of debt, or simply teaches you to manage your money better.

Our Clitheroe CAP Centre opened in November 2011 and has worked with over 170 clients to date.  We have loved celebrating with those clients who have become debt free.

Our CAP Centre Manager is Matt Wood.

To start your journey out of debt, please first call CAP on 0800-328-0006 or go to the webpage below. Matt will then be in touch with you to arrange your first meeting.

CAP has been running Money Management courses for many years, and they are suitable for anyone who wants to manage their finances better.  You don't have to be in debt or struggling at the end of the month to benefit ... but if you are, the skills you will learn will be invaluable.  The programme explains a highly effective money management course that teaches people budgeting skills and a system for using bank accounts and cash that really works.  This course will help anyone to get more in control of their finances, so they can save, give and prevent or deal with debt.

St James’ Church has partnered with Christians Against Poverty to offer Money Management courses in our community. The service we offer is completely free.  Our 'full' course includes 9 modules, running over four sessions, which are normally held at St James' Church.  We also offer a 'short' course of five core modules, and this can be run over a day or two shorter sessions. In addition to the open public courses, we can arrange tailored courses for community groups and charities, and occasionally run online courses. We also run youth and children’s money management sessions, which we’re keen to use with local schools and community groups.  Please contact Graham Haldane, our lead Money Coach, if you are interested in discussing options.

We have the following public course planned for 2024, run at St James' Church, Clitheroe:

  • Full course: Tuesdays  4, 11, 18 & 25 June 2024, 19:30-21:15

Places can be booked via the link below.
