Serving on the St James Kids team is loads of fun. We need all kinds of people, from group leaders to crafters to cooks to worship leaders. All you need is a desire to help kids grow in their knowledge of Jesus.
When? Sundays and midweek
Need to know: Serving on this team requires a DBS check and safeguarding training.

If you have a real passion for encouraging and equipping young people to encounter Jesus in their lives, serving on the Youth team may be right for you. We need leaders, helpers and mentors.
When? Sundays and midweek

Welcome Team
We know it's so important the new people are warmly welcomed at St James. Our dedicated team of welcomers are essential to this process.
When? Sunday mornings
Need to know: Welcomers usually serve once every 4-6 weeks.

Catering Team
We all know that good coffee, a welcome cup of tea or even a full meal make a real difference. Our catering team gets involved with all sorts - from coffee on a Sunday to serving 2000 burgers at a barbecue.
When? Sundays and midweek
Need to know: Sunday coffee teams serve once every six weeks; all food catering at other events are optional.

Small Group Leaders
Small groups are essential to our growth in faith at St James. Small group leaders will invest time, effort and prayer into their groups.
When? Mid-week, daytime or evening
Need to know: You need to be a committed Christian and maturing in faith to consider this role.

Worship Team
We are a humble worshipping community, a single body, made up of diverse parts.
In the worship team, we have a space to nurture God-given artistic gifts. What a privilege!
When? Sunday mornings plus rehearsals Wednesday evenings.

CAP Befrienders
Befrienders are essential to the work of CAP, being the support that people need as they work to get themselves out of debt.
When? Mid-week, daytime or evening
Need to know: You don't need to be a financial expert but do need patience and kindness in this role.
Team Leader: Matt Wood
Pastoral Care
Our amazing team of pastoral carers visit those who are unable to get to church, pray with people and care practically where we can.
When? As and when required
Team Leader: Peter Williams
Tech Team
Whether it's sound, visuals, live streaming or social media, we need a really creative and committed tech team.
When? Sunday mornings and midweek
Need to know: No expertise needed, just a good eye and a high level of literacy.
Team Leader: Richard Smith
Mentors
We have a number of mentors of all ages, and we'd love to have a few more. Mentoring is a really powerful way to encourage others to grow, and our mentors really grow in faith as well.
When? Weekly, usually for a 6-8 week block.
Need to know: Full training is provided. You do need to be a committed, maturing Christian.
